1) Blog Post 2: Identify a time in your life when you applied for something (it could be a job, internship, scholarship, or even applying for college). Did you find it difficult to write your resume/cover letter/personal statement? What was difficult about it, if anything? Now that you have learned about audience and purpose, if you had to reapply for the position/opportunity, how would you write your application materials differently? Be specific. What would you do?

1) On October 24-28 I was able to go on an HBCU college tour where people could see different kinds of colleges that were more diverse in color all black-centered colleges. They were allowing people to send their applications so people could submit their applications to the college directly and I had submitted mine to different colleges like Virginia State University, Howard, Virginia Union, North Carolina A&T, and others I have submitted my college application and I had to interview with all of the colleges and we talked about my high school career and what I did that will maybe impact my college experience and see if the colleges will like me as a person and also a very hard worker. It wasn’t difficult to create a resume/cover letter/personal statement because, for those certain requirements, I am very glad that I was almost everything in my school from school athlete to student government to sports manager to student honor society to senior commit to public speaker, etc. Putting all that on the resume is very good because it shows jobs that I am a very hard worker and I know multiple skills. When it comes to the cover letter just talking about me is good cause I like talking about myself and my accomplishments as I did in high school. I wouldn’t write it any differently because I know the things I put on those letters and resumes will help me forever.

2)Find 3 jobs/internships/scholarships/graduate programs etc that you want to apply to. In bullet form or a paragraph, write about why you want to apply to these opportunities? Be as specific as possible. What can the position/opportunity do for you? What qualities about the opportunity do you like?Bring the 3 listings to class.

2)

Job-Apple/google- These jobs can give me the experience I need to help my future in the tech industry because working at Apple and or Google would help me grow in the industry as well but also get paid very well. the position in the company I would want to do is on the hardware side for both because I build the computers/phones and put software into it.

Scholarship full-ride out-of-state school- This opportunity allows me to go to any out-of-state college without having to pay because the full-ride scholarship has me covered. I can do my work do sports and get the career I want without having to worry about paying the FAFSA office

graduate program- A master’s in my major because I would love to have the degree in the program so I can a little bit more pay and branch out to even more jobs and opportunities.

1)Who is the audience for this document? Where do you think the authors intended for the document to be displayed

The audience for this document is all ages such as kids to adults to elderly people. I think the author intended for the document to be displayed as something that people should be active to have a healthy body and to be engaged in everyday activities and the benefits from doing it.

2)With which of the two general purposes does this document more closely align? Does it help others to learn about a subject, carry out a task, or make a decision, or does it reinforce or change attitudes and motivate readers to take action? If the document appears to have some combination of these purposes, which seems to be the most important? How can you tell?

The general purpose that this document more closely aligns with the benefits of having a healthy body and how physical activity helps that. It helps others to learn about the subject, carry out a task, or make a decision or does it reinforce or change attitudes and motivate readers to take action physical activity for the body gets the body active every time and it helps them being about to lift heavy things and also contribute to the muscles becoming stronger. The most important purpose that the document has is that it shows people the benefits of why having a healthy body helps with everyday life.

3) What problem is the document addressing? Does the document provide clear solutions?

A problem that the document addresses is how physical activity helps people with their health against cancer. The document does provide clear solutions because it shows that physical activity is a wonder drug and the closest thing to a cure to prevent cancer.

4) Has the document been designed to facilitate usability? How does it use words and images to communicate information? Does it create a positive impression? Is it easy to navigate and understand? Does it address readers with various physical abilities?

The document has been designed to facilitate usability because its shows people how to be active to avoid having to worry about the risk of cancer. The words and images are used to communicate information is by showing the risks in 1 in 8 people could have cancer but if they are active the risk can become lower and has a lower chance of getting it. I would say the document is easy to navigate because of how simple it is to spot how what section is for different kinds of people its for. It doesn’t address readers with various physical abilities because it only explains the pros and cons of exercising or not but not what kind of exercises.

5) Is the document concise? How well does it communicate a lot of information in an economical manner? Can busy readers scan it and grasp the main point? be

This document is concise in showing how physical activity can help a person in showing them that it can lower the risk of cancer. It economically communicates a lot of information because of the way it explains to different kinds of people that should do physical activity and how it helps them in the long run. yes, you can because i read the title and I got a grasp of what this document is about.

6) Does the document appear professional? Why or why not

I believe that the document does appear professional because it shows the risks of having cancer in different people but then once they scroll down in the document it shows the benefits of being active and why you should do it.
